Child Labour Commemoration Day

Child Labour commemoration day was organized by the ‘SETIK’ on the 12th of June 2010 at ‘Krishna Bhavan’ Hall, Hatton. ‘Every Child has the right to lead a virtuous life’ was the theme of this commemoration.

The first step of the programme was a ‘Paadayathra’ of the parents up to ‘Krishna Bhavan’ by carrying and displaying of banners condemning child labour.

The second step was a special lecture delivered by Mrs. Shakunthala Devi, trained instructor teachers, attached to the 'Zonel Education Office’ Hatton, under the theme ‘Child and Education’ at the ‘Krishna Bhavan’ hall.

On the same day, 10 children who were released from child labour and referred to school education were presented with a set of school equipment each.

The chief guest present was the Director of ‘SETIK Organization’ Rev. Fr. Camillus D. Jansz and about 220 parents participated at this function.
